Guillermo Cruz-Rico is a distinguished Mexican Canadian lawyer, consultant, and entrepreneur, licensed to practice in both Ontario, Canada, and Mexico. With a career spanning over two decades, he has built a reputation as a leading expert in cross-border legal matters between Mexico and Canada.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Guillermo relocated to Toronto in 2005, where he had the invaluable opportunity to work under the direct supervision of Mr. Edward L. Greenspan, one of Canada’s most renowned criminal lawyers, on a high-profile double murder case in Mexico. This experience solidified his commitment to serving clients with legal needs in both countries.

Guillermo Cruz-Rico
Since 2014, he has served as the principal of MC Law Office, the first boutique firm dedicated to both Mexican and Canadian law, with offices in Toronto and Mexico City.
In 2007, he obtained his Foreign Legal Consultant permit for Mexico, allowing him to assist Canadians in criminal defence, commercial law, and other cross-border legal matters. Pursuing dual legal accreditation, he completed the rigorous National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) process, demonstrating proficiency in 14 legal subjects. In 2014, he was called to the Ontario Bar, officially becoming licensed in both jurisdictions.
Throughout his career, Luis Guillermo Cruz Rico has handled high-profile cases, collaborated with some of the brightest legal minds in Mexico and Canada, and successfully argued cases before courts in both countries. His deep understanding of both legal traditions has positioned him as a trusted legal advisor for individuals and businesses navigating the complexities of the Mexican and Canadian legal systems.

His leadership in these initiative strengthens commercial ties and enhances economic opportunities between Mexico and Canada.
